The day was here. After months of hard work and creativity, it was time to present our recommendations to our client. Despite the unpredictable road that led us to Rwanda, Team Gitesi had found ways to re-route to hopefully build a plan of action that would help Aime and his father build their coffee tourism business.
Aime and Alexi were able to join the presentations. They greeted everyone when they walked into the room with the same hug and graciousness they had treated us with. While throughout the presentation I was thinking about the content we were delivering, I think we also were simultaneously thinking about how hard it was going to be to say goodbye to our new friends. The last thing anyone from our team expected was to develop the relationship with our client that we did.
It was fascinating to see the different presentations offered by each group. From branding, to social media marketing, data analysis, to business development, we really hit the full spectrum of what we have learned in our MBA program while in Rwanda. I also liked seeing client reactions; this was the first time in the MBA program where we really saw our work become something tangible that would have a positive effect on the different organizations we were working with. Some clients could even benefits from multiple presentations, we were really building their networks!
As we said goodbye to Aime and his father and hopped on the bus, our excitement and celebration of our achievements were definitely lined with sentimental value. I speak on behalf of all of Team Gitesi when I say that we look forward to continuing to build our relationship with the Gitesi Coffee Washing Station and helping them make the next steps in their business plan. I can’t wait to see what new ideas Aime and his father have next! And don’t worry, Aime didn’t forget to give us all some coffee before we said our goodbyes…
See you all back in the USA!
