Sightseeing in Istanbul!

On Wednesday we got the opportunity to visit some of Istanbul’s most popular sights. We started the morning by visiting the spice bazaar where we got to try dried fruits, teas, olives and Turkish delights.

Next we visited Topkapi Palace where we got to see historic robes and artifacts.

After visiting the palace, we made our way to The Blue Mosque. Here is a picture of the gorgeous ceiling in the Mosque:

We then made our way to the Basilica Cistern where we got to see an upside down head of Medusa:

Next we headed over to Aya Sofia, which was once a church, then became a Mosque and is now a museum.

We finished our day at the Grand Bazaar where you can buy anything and everything. I picked up some beautiful hand painted plates.
